The Theme Roadmap--Short Form Memoir--A Series of Short Stories
Using this approach to life story writing, you write one two-page story about each of nine themes that cover the most significant aspects of life and living such as Turning Points, Childhood Family Influences, and Work Life. Each theme presents a series of questions to rekindle memories and focus your story. When you've finished writing the themes, add photos and you've created your life story book.

The Master List of Essential Stories Roadmap--A Series of Short Stories
In this approach, you create a Story List. From this list, you identify ten to twenty stories related to the important turning points in your life and other significant experiences. This yields a manageable list of essential stories that define your life journey for your life story book. The remaining stories are sorted into two lists: Fun Facts, Interesting Incidents, and Humorous Anecdotes to include in a chapter of your book of essential stories and a Story Wish List for later projects.
Narrative Nonfiction Roadmap--Book-Length Memoir
In this approach, you create a narrative arc of significant moments in your life centered on a theme that deepens over the course of your story. The narrative arc involves what happened. From the narrative arc you create your personal character arc centered on how those significant moments in the narrative arc transformed your thoughts, feelings, perspective, and/or your direction in life. This approach results in a book-length memoir instead of a series of short stories.

How we work together whether you choose the Theme Roadmap, the Essential Stories Roadmap, or the Narrative Nonfiction Roadmap:
You work with me one-to-one. This enables me to tailor the memoir writing project to your specific needs. The roadmaps are starting points that can be modified according to your needs.
We'll talk about your goals for writing your memoir.
You'll choose your roadmap--Theme, Essential Stories, Narrative Nonfiction,or another type of roadmap you have in mind.
We'll discuss each of your completed stories or chapters as they relate to achieving your memoir project goals.
You receive detailed feedback about the strengths in your writing and writing craft instruction to enhance your writing.
Since meetings will be individual, we can meet once a week, once every two weeks, or once a month depending on your schedule.
We meet via Zoom so I can answer questions, help resolve problems, and discuss feedback.
I provide a free-one hour consultation to discuss your project.
